The process of painting, embodies a huge part of myself. Time spent, individual brush strokes and my own interpretation are there for the viewer to share, allowing them time to reflect and study the work in depth. Realism is a philosophy opposed to style and I observe and record as accurately as possible.
I graduated from Loughborough University with a Fine Art degree in 2015. After exhibiting my work at The Old Truman Brewery gallery in London, I went on to participate in Sky Arts’ popular television programme - Portrait Artist of the Year in 2017. This was a brilliant year for me as I also exhibited my painting of ‘Ingrid’ in The Royal Society of Portrait Painters annual exhibition which is held at the Mall Galleries, one of London’s most prestigious art galleries. I have also been shortlisted for the BP Portrait Award at London’s National Portrait Gallery.
I have been working in luxury travel PR over the last few years but the time over lockdown has allowed me to focus on my art career again and I am back freelancing. I am currently working on a couple of book illustration projects and selling prints, cards and commissions of watercolour pets, family and buildings. Recently, the General Manager of Gloria restaurant in Shoreditch bought my painting of the restaurant which is part of the global restaurant group Big Mamma. I have just collaborated with ITV This Morning's gardening expert Michael Perry. Michael released two T-shirts with my houseplant illustrations on for his artist collection on his website Mr Plant Geek.
I am a lover of life and I paint realistic watercolour illustrations of animals, plants, food, people and everything that surrounds me which makes me happy. I could be anywhere in the world but when I am painting, I am always transported to happiness. I hope you enjoy my artwork and please get in touch if you have any questions!
